Cofiloisirs Eco-Production Grants...
As part of its commitment to social and environmental responsibility in film and audiovisual production, Cofiloisirs aims to encourage its clients to conduct their projects according to a sustainable, eco-responsible approach.
During the 78th Cannes Film Festival, Cofiloisirs announced the creation of a grant of € 500,000 over five years dedicated to this initiative.
This grant will be distributed annually through 5 awards of € 20,000 each to reward works financed by Cofiloisirs that achieved the highest Eco-Scores under the Ecoprod Label.

This initiative is implemented in partnership with the Ecoprod Label, an audiovisual eco-production certification supported by ADEME and audited by an independent third party, AFNOR Certification.

Eligibility conditions for Cofiloisirs-Ecoprod Scheme
To be eligible, a work must have been financed by Cofiloisirs with a minimum amount of €500,000, and must have obtained the Ecoprod Label in the “Performance” category, with an Eco-Score assigned as of the 31th of December of the relevant year.
Note that for the first year, only works released or broadcast in 2025 or later and having obtained their Eco-Score by 31 December 2025 will be considered.
A work showing a non-compliance defect (regulatory or ESG), or whose Cofiloisirs financing with Cofiloisirs has a default,will not be eligible.
How many works are awarded per year? Who receives the grant?
Starting in 2025, and for the following five years, five works financed by Cofiloisirs with the best Ecoprod Label Eco-Scores will receive a €20 000 grant each, paid to the borrowers of the Cofiloisirs production loans involved.
To encourage ecological transition among as many clients as possible, the same company or business group* cannot be awarded more than one grant every two years. The results will be reviewed annually to determine whether adjustments to the rules are necessary for the following years.
*A “business group” encompasses companies linked by economic/financial relationships, capital ties, significant financing relationships, shared shareholders or management, etc.
How to apply for the Cofiloisirs – Ecoprod Scheme
There is no formal application. Every work financed by Cofiloisirs that meets the eligibility criteria is automatically considered.
The awarding of the grant is formalized by a contract to be signed by the beneficiaries.
When are the Cofiloisirs - Ecoprod Award laureates announced? When is the payment made?
Laureates are determined in the first quarter of the year N+1 for works eligible as of the 31th of December of year N.
Payment is made after signing the grant agreement, once the Cofiloisirs loan(s) financing the work are fully repaid.
